Il Duomo di Firenze

Florence can feel like Disneyland: too many people and everything seems like you’re in a magical kingdom. I couldn’t believe I was standing and looking at Il Duomo di Firenze. Studying Art History, especially Italian Renaissance, I was fascinted by Florence and the things that were created during that time of rebirth. When I look at this photo, I think of the exact spot where I stood and dream of returning.

An unexpected poppy field I stumbled upon while walking around the ruins at Pompeii. Nice spot of color amongst the brown and earthen colors of the stone.

Stacked Canoes, Caddo Lake, Jefferson, TX

The only spot of color were these stacked canoes of a lake closed for the winter. The day was overcast, gray, and there was a threat of rain. Yet, it was one of the most eerie and beautiful places I’ve ever been.

The original image is a shot of a thick fog that rolled in over Lion’s Gate Bridge in Vancouver, BC. It was a cold January day and there was little visibility. Playing around with the image, I wanted to capture the surreal grayness of the day.
